Carys has completed her mission and is heading for the UK collecting photographs of her travels. Thanks for all your care and help
Carys is one of five Polar Bear cubs on separate missions to visit areas where Polar Bears still roam. She is hoping to get to Arctic Canada and perhaps travel with the Ice Pilots on Buffalo Airways before she heads home to the UK and GC366FT. Carys is not camera shy and would love to have some photos of her travels to send home to her family and friends back home.

Pipaluk the Polar Bear
Pipaluk, a male polar bear, was born at London Zoo on the 1st December 1967.
The name ‘Pipaluk’, the ending of which rhymes with book, was chosen from a list of Inuit names – it means ‘the little one’.
Pipaluk’s parents, who had arrived as young cubs from Moscow Zoo in 1960, were called Sam and Sally. They were named after the Zoo’s bear keeper Sam Morton and his fiancée.
Pipaluk left London Zoo in 1985 when the Mappin Terraces (which housed all the bears) were closed, and died at the age of 22 years in a Zoo in Poland.
Carys the Polar Bear cub is a distant relative of Pipaluk and would like to see the places where other Polar Bears still roam.
