The mission for the trackable is to travel the world meeting those whose lives have been touched by cancer (ANY cancer) in one way or another. Stories and pictures are wonderful but of course not required to move this travel bug along. The goal is to spread strength and courage and hope to all those in need.
Cancer has a way of reaching out and touching just about everyone; some harder than others. It first became a reality for me when I was 13 and a classmate was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. Four years later, it struck a little closer to home when it was determined that my best friend had Luekemia and was taken from us at just 17 years young. Over the years I have lost several loved ones to cancers of all types including Pancreatic, Breast, Melanoma, Ovarian, Lung and Stomach. These losses have hit very hard and close to home. I am happy though that today I can celebrate the miracle of three loved ones that have kicked cancer's butt and one cousin that is fighting a tough battle with brain tumors which for now he is winning.
The purpose of this travel bug is to support the fighters, admire the survivors and honor the taken.
