Goal: Travel from cache to cache in search of BRAAAAINS. Visit Geocaching events. Spread the plague. Please take photos!
Meet Wally a zombie who has become patient number 54 in our study of the propagation of the zombie plague via geocaching. Wally was a butcher who also dabbled in smoked meats. He had a fascination with cutting instruments, was an expert knife sharpener, and also manufactured medieval weapon replicas in his spare time. He often carried a machete on the trail, and while many cachers found this somewhat unnerving, he was an excellent bushwhacker.
We believe that Wally contracted the zombie plague from Patient # 22, Rory. We know that Wally travelled to the southwest for a mega event in Yuma, Arizona, and that he visited Rory's father's meat cleaver museum. Rory and Wally logged some caches together, and shared some jerky recipes by email before they both turned.
This travel bug is part of a larger study to take a closer look at how the zombie plague might propagate if the primary vector for spreading the disease was geocaching. Please visit the following website for further details, and a visualization of how the disease has propagated thus far based on the movement and discovery of this and other infected Zombie travel bugs:
