Quartz is the most abundant mineral in the Earth's crust.  It is found in all types of rock. I found this one in NE Ohio in a sedementary layer.  It's uses are many, from glass to electronics.  There may be a quatz crystal in your watch.   Walk any beach and quartz in abdunance.

The Wolf Pack of the Southern Tier of NY was hunting in the area today......and naturally we only hunt for geocache smileys 😉! I saw this one safe and sound in the cache. But I decided that I have a few too many TB's right now traveling with us. So it will
remain here awaiting more adventures with another cacher 👍!

MrsCM and I found this trackable traveler in the geocache, Higher Learning, along the Middle Township Bike Path in Southern New Jersey today. We decided to pick it up and move it around to give it some mileage. We have our share of quartz around my home area in Northeastern Pennsylvania, or better said, the Tri-State area of PA/NY/NJ.

I'll drop it elsewhere soon, as I noticed in its goal that the owner is less interested in having me move it around much. I'll possibly just drop it off in a cache near my home where possibly someone else will find it and move it somewhere else.
