Having just attended my 50th high school reunion it takes a little work to remember teachers. Mr. Dougherty in 10th grade science (Cleveland Heights High) helped to push me towards my engineering career by presenting us with challenging and interesting work. Today, my connection with the NYC PS system is my granddaughter who just started kindergarten at Hunter School.

Being a teacher, Marksun handed this one off at the "Last Mondays" will keep it moving!

As for my favorite teachers:
First Grade: Charlotte Goodhue-she always greated everyone with a smile and was generally interested when asking, "How have you been?" I know that she remembers her students-all of them, and she taught for over 20 years. I guess she made me feel good becuase I mattered to her.
High School: Willy MacMullen (English) When I was bucking against the system because my confidence had been challenged he told me, "Well, I know that you CAN do the work and if you WANT to I'll be here to help!" I think this was one of the first times that I really listened when someone from outside of my family told me this.
