Here is the history behind Little Dawgs rallys race.
As it is that time of year again for Potters Pond… so is it time for another Hot Wheels travel bug rally.
For those that are not familiar, each year Little Dawg brings Hot Wheels travel bug cars that have a common theme and race goal. The first year (2006) was the Mustang Rally. Three Mustangs; Mustang GT, Mustang Cobra, and a Carroll Shelby Mustang, all raced for the Motor City (Detroit, Michigan).
Last year it was America’s premier sports car, the Corvette Z06, against exotics from around the world: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Jaguar, and Porsche. For that event they all raced to the Corvette Museum in Kentucky.
So what does Little Dawg have in store for this year? The “All American Muscle Car Rally!”
In years past the keys to one of these fine automobiles could only be entrusted to the hands of a child. Meaning? No parents were allowed to play.
This year will be different as Little Dawg has decided to put old against new and young against… well lets just call you parents, seasoned. The cars will be handed out in sets; one muscle car of yesteryear paired with the modern day version of the same muscle car.
The contenders are as follows:
2007 Mustang GT vs. 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429
2008 Dodge Challenger vs. 1970 Dodge Challenger Hemi
2008 Chevrolet Camaro vs. 1969 Chevrolet Convertible
2007 Dodge Charger SRT8 vs. 1969 Dodge Charger Hemi
Of course any race must have a destination. This year it will be Daytona International Speedway in Daytona, Florida where many a muscle car has laid rubber. The winning car will be the first to post a picture of the car at the raceway.
To get a set of cars, parent and child must come together. One set per family please.
With all the niceties said… “Ladies, gentleman, and kids… START YOUR ENGINES!!!!”
