Current Goal

EGB wants to travel to Munich, Germany for Oktoberfest and have a beer, or two, or three ... dozen. However, EGB is in no big hurry, and would certainly prefer taking the senic route via many different bars and pubs around the world, rather than spending a lot of time in a borring old cache.

About This Item

EGB

EGB likes beer. Good beer! And where better to get the best beer in the world than at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany.

Oktoberfest runs from late September through early October, so eventually he'll need to be in southern Germany around that time of year (this year, or next), so someone can pick him up and take him.

While traveling, EGB would also like to sample the local brews from whereever he finds himself. So feel free to take him to your prefered source of microbrews on tap and introduce him to your favorites. But please, don't loose EGB, drink responsibly, and never drink and drive. Whenever possible, please post pictures here of EGB sampling the local flavors, and living it up.

Once EGB has made it to Oktoberfest, He'll want to travel his way home to Missoula, MT so that he can tell his owner about all his exciting adventures.

This Travel Bug is not subject to 'take one, leave one' rules imposed by some misguided travel bug hotels prisons. If you can help this bug, please do so. You are never required to leave anything in a cache in exchange for helping this bug. Liberate the Travel Bugs! Set them Free!

I think this bug's owner would be pleased to know that I took it out of a cache that was listed with a "1 for 1" trading rule on all travel bugs. I didn’t trade it for another bug, but I did leave a trackable www.wheresgeorge.com dollar bill. Based on the notes placed on this cache by the bug owner and the cache owner, there are some strong feelings on TB Jails. Since I own a TB Jail cache, I thought I'd add my 2 cents. Caches are allowed to be placed with restrictions. Some caches have sports themes for instance. Likewise, travel bugs can be released with goals. Both caches and travel bugs are listed on the site with the full understanding that not everyone will play by your requested rules, but that it is poor caching etiquette to do otherwise. TB jails have positive and negative sides. One positive side is that bugs rarely disappear from them or end up being taken and never logged because they attract a clientele that knows what to do with them. It also offers a place for geocachers to see multiple TBs at once and maybe for the first time. It is like going to a candy store with no money. If you don't have a bug to trade in, that doesn't mean that you have to steal the candy to enjoy the experience. The jails sometimes slow TBs down. That is part of the experience. Many geocachers hold TBs for months on end with the best intentions. At least in the cache it has a chance of moving on. Anyway, I'll be taking this guy to the TB Jail in Maryville, TN. However, I really like shopping at skydivergear.com so I will move it right along if it is still in jail in a week! :)
