Hi. This is my dad’s coin. Thank you for delivering to the town of his base where he was stationed in the Korean War. He passed away in December on Pear Harbor Day of 2023. Just a few months ago…at 91…knowing his coin was close after 15 years.
I wonder if the next person who reads my log entry would mind getting ahold of me and sending to us? It would mean a lot to have it as a momento. I can be reached directly at anitazeken@gmail.com. We would of course pay for its return.
Dad had a huge sense of humor that he kept til the very end. He eas very kind as well. He was given the award of “Sweetest Guy” from his assisted living staff. He and my mom had been together for almost 70 years.
He got to meet and hold his first great grandchildren a year ago. He was of course so overwhelmed and relieved that they were ok. He prayed everyday that all would go well with the pregnancy and birth, as he had a twin who passed away at 2 days old.
Here are some photos of my father and our family so you can get to know him a bit.
He was a wonderful father and grandfather. So kind, caring, thoughtful and fun.
Thank you once again to everyone who respected his coin thru 15 years of travel.
