Travelling with Aunty Flo

Original post:  About 18 months ago, we lost a very special member of our family... our Aunty Flo.  She lived an amazing life and was still travelling independently up to the age of 88.  She made time for anyone and everyone and was never more attentive than when listening to tales of our travels.  July 25th would have been Flo's 90th birthday and so, in her honour, we will be placing a travel bug while we are on a trip.  We'd love for it to travel as far and wide as possible but when it is with you, we would also love for you to raise a glass and toast that someone special in your life that inspires you to be your best as Flo always did for us.  We love and miss you Aunty Flo... safe travels! 

March 2016 UPDATE... wow, it's hard to believe it will be three years this summer since we set Aunty Flo's travel bug on the journey of a lifetime. At one point, "she" was within an hour of our town and we didn't even know it. Many thanks to all who have helped her along the way and raised a toast in her honour. As a new goal, we would love to get Flo "home" for her birthday in July so that we can celebrate with her. So, can you help us to get Flo to Port Elgin, Ontario by the end of July?  Feel free to take her to see the sights along the way. ��

** edit to add, we "met up" with Flo and two lovely geocachers in our hometown... we made it our 100th find and surprised the kids. It was priceless.

2026 - Incredibly Flo is still on the move... 91000km + wow! She's moved on to Italy... can't wait to see where she goes next.

Flo loved costume jewellry and never, ever went anywhere without ensuring she was "dressed" as a lady should be.  To that end, we have chosen a small costume jewellry ring to travel in her place.
