To travel to the Wright Brothers Museum, in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, have my picture taken in front of and around the museum, then sent back to Eugene, Oregon. Try to take a picture with it when you pick it up or drop it off in a cache along the way as it will be fun to watch its travels!
Please be careful with this coin. I have already had one of these coins go missing; don't lose this one!
“When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward for there you have been, and there you will always be.”
A little background:
I took my first flight in a small Piper Arrow out of Creswell field in Creswell, Oregon when I was in the 3rd grade. I still will never forget the feeling I had as I lifted off the ground for the first time. Since then, i've never looked back.
I started the training for my Private Pilot's License while in high school, and finished it during my first year of college.
I started school at the University of Oregon, however I transferred last year to the University of North Dakota to study Air Traffic Control. I am taking twenty credits every semester along with competing on a nationally rank Flying Team and working as a web developer to afford and finish school by the end of next year (completing a four year program in two).
My grandfather served in the Navy as an aviator throughout the 30s into the 1950s. He was a dive bomber, flew supplies in during the Berlin Airlift, and retired as a Commander.
This geocoin is my way of connecting my two hobbies together into a keep-sake to remind me what I'm working for. I want to work hard through college and stay focused so I can pursue my dream to join the Navy and serve my country as an Aviator post-graduation next year in my grandfather's footsteps.
Purpose:
I was born a pilot, and always will be one, and so I want to send this coin to the place where it all started, and be able to get this coin back, and carry with me every time I fly to remind me where it all started, where I've come from, and to help me towards where I'm going.
Please help me with this goal by sending this commemorative coin to Kill Devil Hills in North Carolina to the Wright Brothers museum. Take some pictures with this coin in the picture itself, and send this back to Eugene, Oregon for me to have with me as a keepsake.
All I ask is please try to not hold on to the coin for very long, and try to keep it in fairly good shape.
Thanks again for everyone’s help. By having fun and employing your hobby, you can help my career and dream. I saw this coin and new this was something I had to do.
