Goals: 1) to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and visit the bat rays
2) Meet Manny Ezcurra (see below) and get a picture taken with him (he's away from the aquarium a lot, but it never hurts to ask). Hopefully someone in that area will know him.
3) Travel the range of bat ray territory, from the Oregon Coast to the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California - between Baja California and Sonora/Sinaloa)

This trackable is in honor of Manny Ezcurra, associate curator of elasmobranchs (sharks and rays) at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This is a bay ray cachekin (OK, it's described as a manta ray, but it looks more like a bat ray to me) with a doughnut shaped polished tiger eye stone attached.
