Current Goal

I want to grow up to be a wise old owl. Teach me what you know! Be it an obscure fact or simply some sage advice, leave me a short note and I'll be sure to remember it. If you can't think of a fact you could take me to your local library (where I love to get my photo taken) and we could learn one together! It'll be a hoot :)

 

Edit: Oh I'm having SO much fun travelling and learning from such wonderful people!

Here are some of the facts I have learnt in my travels so far:

  • The Smurfs were first created and introduced as a series of comic characters by the Belgian comics artist Peyo in 1958. There are over 100 smurf characters.
  • Channels that take water from the river to the mill are called “lades”
  • The Sydney to Hobart yacht race departs from Captain Piper’s Point on December 26th which is also known as Boxing Day or St Stephen’s Day
  • Golf originated in Scotland!
  • The oldest certified golf course in the world is Musselburgh Links outside Edinburgh - golf has been played there since 1672.
  • There are over 35,000 golf courses in the world.
  • The bible says that if you lack wisdom you can ask God and he won’t reproach you.
