To reach the Antarctic base at SANAE IV and return to Australia.
Thirty years ago, while working for the Transglobe Expedition, I wintered in a small hut on the edge of the Fimbul Ice Shelf, close to the South African base of SANAE III. These bases have long since disappeared, as the ice shelf breaks up and drifts around the Weddell Sea. To reach the new inland base at SANAE IV this TB will probably have to go in on the resupply ship from Cape Town, so heading to South Africa would be a good start.
