Shri-Yantra [Sanskrit], wörtl.: "Yantra des Erhabenen"; das wichtigste Yantra des hinduist. Tantra. Es ist die symbolische Darstellung aller Götter und Göttinnen und zeigt den Ursprung und die Entstehung des gesamten Universums. Es war im Besitz von Brahma, der Schöpfer des Universums und wurde von Vishnu der Fürst der Erde gepriesen.

Das Wort "Shree" wird definiert als Pracht, Schönheit, Glück; Wohlstand, Reichtum; Majestät; Ehrwürdiger, Erhabener" und ist in der letzten wörtl. Bedeutung ein ehrender Beiname vor Götter- und Menschennamen;.

Shree Yantras geometrische Konstruktion hat viele Kreise, Dreiecke, Punkte, Linien und Winkel. In der Mitte der innerste Kreis ist ein Punkt, um die neun Dreiecke angeordnet sind. Fünf Dreiecke zeigen nach unten und vier Dreiecke nach oben [Richtung Shiva].

Die nach unten zeigenden fünf Dreiecke symbolisieren fünf Elemente, fünf Sinne, fünf Organe, fünf Tataren und fünf Geburten. Die nach oben zeigenden vier Dreiecke symbolisieren Leben, Seele, Knochen und Knochenmark Gene.

Das Shri Yantra ist eines der bedeutendsten Meditationsbilder Indiens.






Shree Yantra is the symbolic form of all Gods and Goddesses. It shows the origin and formation of the entire Universe. It was possessed by Brahma, the creator of the Universe and praised by Vishnu the lord of the Earth. It is connected deeply with the Ancient Art of Vaastu and has been specifically mentioned in the 'Vaastu Shastra'. All constructions based on Vaastu must essentially have Shree Yantra in it. The Vedas explain Shree Yantra as a scientific, cosmic and planetary energy zone.

The word 'Shree' is defined as 'one who becomes one with the Almighty everyday of his life and extracts from him his divine insight and supreme powers'. This enables the Shree to become a means of fulfilling all that one wishes and desires in life.

Shree Yantra is geometrical in its construction and has many circles, triangles, points, lines and angles. In the center of the inner most circle is a point around which are nine triangles, of which 5 triangles point downwards [towards Shakti or power] and four triangles point upwards [towards Shiva].

Downward pointing five triangles symbolize five elements, five sense, five organs, five Tartars and five Birth. Upward pointing four triangles symbolize life, soul, bone-marrow and genes. Both four upward and five downward triangles are representative of nine basic instincts.
