About This Item

Road Runner was collected from a cache in Alice Springs in October 2009 on a road trip with Claire, Tash, Bruce & Scott. Some months later plans were made to go to the Birdsville Races (an iconic outback Australian race meeting) which seemed like the perfect opportunity to turn Road Runner into a travel bug and start him on his journey to Arizona! So September 2010 arrives and Claire, Tash, Bruce & Scott load up the X-Trail and hook up the camper to make the road trip out to Birdsville. Many, many stories were shared and many more new ones developed along the way but not much racing was seen - for the first time in the 128 year history of the Birdsville Races the racing was cancelled due to rain! All roads in and out of Birdsville were closed for the next 3 days due to flooding leaving over 3000 race goers stuck in Birdsville with nothing much to do except enjoy a quiet* drink or two at the Birdsville Hotel!
