Welcome to GeoCoinFest 2010, being held in Minnesota!
To do my part, I purchased these GCF2010 Cachekinz in support, and now I'm releasing them all at GeoCoinFest 2010! I decided each of these trackables should represent some symbol of Minnesota - something unique or important to our state.
Our state flower is the Pink and White, or Showy Ladyslipper. It was adopted as the state flower in 1902. The plants grow very slowly, taking up to 16 years to produce their first flowers. They can live for up to 50 years, and grow four feet tall! A century ago, the showy ladyslipper was a favorite adornment in rural church altars durring the summer. But since 1925, this flower has been protected by state law, making it illegal to pick the flowers or uproot the plants.
This state symbol is being presented to your in the form of a keychain. Please help out by moving this along quickly. Thanks!!
