We will take you to Portugal with us.
[yellow]Tour "Golden Pair treat children and grandchildren to a roman holiday"[/yellow]
We were in Rome for a family get together and searched for a few caches when possible. Of the twelve people in the group we were the only two geocachers so it was not easy to slip away at odd moments. During the after diner strolls we introduced geocaching to some of the family members, L was really excited about the concept of having such hidden treasures in places teeming with tourists. 🙂[br]
The weather was just like at home, about 27ºC, sunny and hot. [br]
Walking around the smallest country in the world, Vatican City State, was optional but a fun thing to do. [br]
🙂 The track of our wandering through town is a rather erratic line, since the GPSr kept losing it bearings and positioning us inside buildings otherwise closed to us. Many times the hint was our salvation to find the cache.[br]
The time we spent here was far too short to see all the sights, search for a reasonable amount of caches and not regret having spent too much time on either so we tried to find some balance between both. Of the two dozen that were selected into the GPSr we found eleven traditionals, one multi, one mystery and four earth caches. On the did-not-find side we have three mysteries, one multi and one traditional. The mysteries and earthcaches were subject of homework and research that helped us to get into the mood of visiting Rome and Vatican City. [br]
A ticket for one of the open top busses took us nearly everywhere, first we did the whole roundtrip (just sightseeing) and then we started getting on en off at different spots to go to museums and sites. We did not see the inside of some of them due to lack of patience to stand in a row for a couple of hours. We decided to come back in the future during the low season. [br]

Thanks for the coin and greetings from Portugal. [br]
[br]
Obrigado pela cache e saudações de Portugal. [br]
