Erwin Schrödinger and Werner Heisenberg are driving down the road when they get pulled over by a police officer. The police officer walks up to the window and asks, “Do you know how fast you were going?”
“No,” replied Heisenberg. “But I know precisely where I am.”
The policeman says, “You were going exactly 100 in a 50 zone.”
“Great!” declares Heisenberg. “Now I’m lost!”
The policeman asks both men to get out of the car, then asks them to open the boot. (Trunk for the Americans.)
“Sir,” says the policeman to Schrödinger. “Did you know you have a dead cat in your boot?”
Schrödinger replies , “I do now, you idiot!”
Schrödinger got himself another cat and put it in a box. However, this cat is more intelligent than previous ones and realises that its life expectancy is rather uncertain. It decides to burrow out the bottom of the box and make a run for it.
Please take it as far away as possible, give it the occasional bowl of milk and show it a good time.
2016 UPDATE: The original cat got lost in the Northern Territory, but Schroedinger's replacement cat has also escaped and is heading out on wild adventures. .
