I obtained this cache while searching for a geocache called "The Jon" in Alabama (GC9V94B). It was lying on the ground near the cache container. This was likely taken by a cacher from the TB hotel it was last logged in during the Banarama event, but not logged, and then accidentally dropped by a cacher who was recently searching for "The Jon". This cache has a very interesting history!
Unfortunately, there is no yellow convertible attached to the tag, it's just the tag itself. It is a bit confusing, because it appears, based on the logs and a photo, that early in 2023 there was just a tag (no convertible), but then later in 2024 and even early 2025, there are a couple pictures with a yellow convertible attached. Did someone replace it maybe? I'm not sure, but there is no longer a convertible attached. It is the same tag that is pictured in the 3/10/24 photo (as I compared the markings on the tag which correlate), though it appears the convertible was attached at that time. I'm hoping to replace the convertible with something when I get home -- maybe I can find a yellow convertible hot wheels car (since we have a bunch of those).
ANYWHO, I read the description for this tag and was so intrigued because it appears that the owners of this trackable are from Michigan and dropped it off in Alabama while on vacation. Coincidentally, I am from Michigan and currently visiting Orange Beach/Gulf Shores Alabama to visit family. From reviewing the logs, it appears that this trackable has either been placed in a cache or visited/traveled to the following states: Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Tennessee, Florida, and finally back to Alabama where I found it once again. This tag has had a great journey, and I just can't resist bringing him back home to Michigan where he belongs. I am excited to find him a great cache to travel to. I just need to find some way to attach a new car to it. Au revoir Alabama, Bonjour Michigan! 😛
