I was born in San Francisco in the late 40's when folks dressed up to shop on Market Street. Times have changed and now everyone seems to be dressed for a weekend of camping. San Francsico is home to a great many monuments built to stand the test of time. The Coit Tower is one of the iconic San Francisco landmarks where the entire first floor hallway is decorated with Diego Rivera original fresco murals. These murals depict life in The CITY back in the day. It's worth the effort to see these famous paintings. Recommend you visit North Beach nearby and visit Saint Peter & Paul church where Joe Di Maggio, the ball player, got married. Happy traveling.
