Current Goal

The goal for this bug is to visit all fire-stations and "Ground Zero" in New York City and then go to as many fire-stations and medical services to let them know that as Americans that "WE WILL NOT FORGET"!!!

About This Item

This truck was purchased on Sept.11th at a local Wal-Mart. I am sending along a large log book so all can write their name in it. When the log gets full, post a note at my cache site on Geocaching.com and will send a new log to keep it going. If you can, take picture of bug visiting fire stations and rescue squads and other emergency services. I will in turn, send the log books and photos that I receive, to New York City in hopes that they will be put in a future memorial building honoring all that Sept. 11th has meant to all Americans!! Found this the other day. Will be moving it along in a week or two. I am going to take some time and share this with my fellow fire figher/geocachers at the Saint Cloud (MN) Fire Department. I think we can find a patch to attach here before sending on its way.

I liked the idea of this TB but it was in rough shape. The owners address was listed on the log so I mailed it back to them for some TLC. That was a few weeks ago and I haven't heard or seen any activity since. Don't know what's going to happen to it. Oh well.

I remember that morning very well I heard the news that a plane hat hit one of the towers of the WTC, thinking that it was a small plane as I switch over I was shocked to see the size of the hole the amount of fire and the size of damaged that had accrued. I was watching the coverage with my Daughter who was seven at the time as the second plane hit the other tower, I knew at that time our county was under attack. I remember trying to explain to her how and why some one would want to do some thing like that and who would have so much hate against us. She couldn’t understand the reason that I was giving her when she is so kindness in her heart.

When I seen the first tower fell I knew that a lot of people were just killed including many members of the FDNY, I was hoping that the second tower would not fall and ever one could escape but soon after that it happen and fell. I remember hearing the eerie sound of all the pass devices going off and knowing that each one was a down firefighter. When I dust cleared all you seen was ruble and twisted and mangled fire trucks.

I remember the CRFD canceling our regular schedule training drill for that night it was much more important to be with family that night. I also remember the people freaking out running to the banks to draw money out of there and the lines at the gas stations people thinking that we will run out of gas. The only stations that didn’t have line in front of them were the business hiking the prices of a gallon of gas to over $4.00

It is a day were all gave some and some gave all, Never forget 9-11-01

I have attached one of our Fire Department patch to this Travel Bug for its journey.

Bus and Betty emailed me about this Tb and I thought to myself that I have to get it from them. It was handed over to me by them at the Wood Duck cache in Fridley MN during the Week Night Caching Crew outing. I will attach a Coon Rapids Fire Department patch to it be fore I move it on.

All gave some and some gave all on 9-11-01. We will never forget that day.
