De Minotaurus is een mythe.

De Minotaurus is half stier, half mens en woonde in het labyrint. Minos, de koning van Kreta had ooit van de zeegod Poseidon een mooie witte stier gekregen die hij in de toekomst moest offeren. Minos vond de stier echter te mooi om te offeren dus liet hij een andere stier afmaken. 
Poseidon (god van de wateren) was zo boos dat hij de vrouw van Minos verliefd liet worden op de witte stier. 
Uit die liefde werd de Minotaurus geboren, half stier half mens. Minos schaamde zich zo voor het gedrocht dat hij aan Daedalus (een groot architect) vroeg een reusachtig doolhof te bouwen. 
Het doolhof was zo groot en ingewikkeld dat als je erin zou gaan er niet meer uit kon komen. 
Dat reusachtige doolhof heette het labyrint.

The Minotaur is a myth.

The Mintoraurus is half bull and half human and lived in the labyrinth.
Minos, the king of Crete had once received a beautiful white bull from the sea god Poseidon that he had to sacrifice in the future.
However, Minos thought the bull was too beautiful to sacrifice, so he had another bull killed. Poseidon (god of the waters) was so angry that he made Minos's wife fall in love with the white bull.
From that love the Minotaur was born, half bull half human. Minos was so ashamed of the monstrosity that he asked Daedalus (a great architect) to build a huge maze. The maze was so big and complicated that if you entered it you couldn't get out. That gigantic maze was called the labyrinth.
