Dave's I Like Travel Bugs Geocoin

To celebrate my 230th Trackable and to spread the word about the joy of Travel Bugs, Trackables and Geocoins!!  

Please post pictures of this Geocoin with other Travel Bugs, Trackables and/or Geocoins that you have!!

I released my I Like Travel Bugs GC as part of our annual Family Vacation activity, although COVID kept us from physically getting together, we still had to release our annual Trackables!!   In addition to mine, Geo-Daughter's Aimee's Nature Heart CITO Leaf Nano, Geo-Son-in-Law's Andy's Rocket the Cat TB, Geo-Wifey's Betty the Parrott TB, Geo-Granddaughter's Gabby's Let's Get Extreme TB, Geo-Son-in-Law's Gary's Pirate Map Building Brick TB, Geo-Daughter's Ginee's Lots of Java TB, Geo-Grandson's Jack's Umbabaque the Functopus GC, Geo-Grandson's Sam's Brewsky the Beer TB, and Geo-Granddaughter's Sophie's Road Trip Crew TB, were also released!!

This Geocoin was started on its journey in Fountain Hills, Arizona.  It is a metal Geocoin, copper in color, and about 1.25" x 1.25" in size.

Travel tags, Trackables and Geocoins are an excellent way to enjoy Geocaching beyond the discovery of caches.

12/16/25 - RE-RELEASED AS PROXY #2 AFTER PROXY #1 DISAPPEARED FROM A CACHE WHERE IT HAD BEEN PLACED OVER 10 MONTHS AGO!! PROXY #1 HAD TRAVELLED ALMOST 9,870 MILES WHEN IT DISAPPEARED NEAR LEBANON, PENNSYLVANIA!!

3/1/23 - RE-RELEASED AS A PROXY AFTER THE ORIGINAL DISAPPEARED FROM A CACHE WHERE IT HAD BEEN PLACED OVER 13 MONTHS AGO!!  THE ORIGINAL HAD TRAVELED OVER 1,080 MILES BEFORE IT DISAPPEARED NEAR SPRINGVILLE, UTAH!!

What are trackables?

Trackables are physical game pieces that move from geocache to geocache. Types of trackables include: geocoins, tags, t-shirts, and more!

Can I keep them?

In most cases, trackables want to travel. Use the tracking code on the trackable to look up its goal. Log trackables in order to move them along.

How do I log a trackable?

Trackables can be found in geocaches, your inventory, or through the trackable code search.

Use the tracking code to access the trackable details page and then choose the appropriate log type.

How do I start my own?

You can get trackables on our website. Give your trackable a goal and drop it in a geocache to send it on its way. You will be notified every time a geocacher logs it.

Trackable tips:

• Try to move trackables within two weeks of taking them.
• If a trackable isn't listed in a geocache, wait 24 hours or contact the last geocacher who logged the trackable.
• If you think a trackable is missing from a geocache, contact the trackable owner or write a note on the trackable details page.
