About This Item

GoCache playing card

The Ace of Spades is traditionally the highest ranked card in most card games. It is also known as the "death card." In US military history it is often used for good luck or to inspire fear in the enemy. To quote the British band Motorhead from their song "Ace of Spades":

If you like to gamble, I tell you I'm your man
You win some, lose some, it's all the same to me
The pleasure is to play, makes no difference what you say
I don't share your greed, the only card I need is
The ace of spades, the ace of spades

Playing for the high one, dancing with the devil
Going with the flow, it's all a game to me
Seven or Eleven, snake eyes watching you
Double up or quit, double stake or split
The ace of spades, the ace of spades

You know I'm born to lose and gambling's for fools
But that's the way I like it, baby
I don't wanna live for ever
And don't forget the joker

Pushing up the ante, I know you got to see me
Read 'em and weep, the dead man's hand again
I see it in your eyes, take one look and die
The only thing you see, you know it's gonna be
The ace of spades, the ace of spades

Discovered It 7/19/2015 Maine to Massachusetts discovered it Maine   Visit Log

On this day, the Nineteenth of July in the year 2015, GManSan of New York hosted the NY/ME Meet and Greet in southern Maine. With two dozen active Geocachers in attendance, there were many travel bugs and coins to be moved and/or discovered - a great number by the event host himself!

This is one of those travelers. Alas, due to the sheer volume present, plus my distant proximity to home and my logging computer, many of those whose codes I discovered remained written on paper or photographed for entry at a later time. Now 2½ years later, that collection has resurfaced, and belatedly yet happily logged.

Each traveler has a story to tell, and each one is of great value to all who discover. Thank you for letting your piece of adventure travel into my life.
