Visiting beautiful Puerto Rico with my family and a good friend. It's been over a decade since my last trip here. First time for the rest of our party.
As soon as my SO said she wanted to go to Puerto Rico for Christmas break I checked for the oldest cache on the island, and fortunately it was on the way from San Juan to Ponce. I've been waiting to revisit the Centro Ceremonial Indígena de Tibes which was just getting started my last visit. I also wanted to find an epic Vejigante preferably made by Miguel Caraballo. So I got the by in to add a Ponce hop to our trip.
We pulled up to the blocked entry road and climbed the hill to see the Monumento al Jíbaro Puertorriqueño, then ran down to hike over to GZ. It was a quick find for this historic cache. Loved the container as well as its placement. We signed the log and I dropped a trackable I picked up in San Juan.
The cache is in great shape and has plenty of room for more logs.
Best wishes on the rest of your journey!
