Jæren, det lave, flate kystområdet sør for Boknafjorden i Rogaland. Det egentlige Jæren, Låg-Jæren, er den 10–15 km brede randen langs kysten fra Brusand vel 15 km nordvest for Egersund, og 60 km nordover til Tungenes, nordspissen av halvøya mellom Gandsfjorden og Nordsjøen. Dette området, ca. 700 km2, er Norges største lavslette.

 

 

Jæren, low, flat coastal area south of Boknafjorden in Rogaland. The real Jæren, Low-Jæren, the 10-15 km wide rim along the coast from Brusand well 15 km northwest of Egersund, and 60 km north to Tungenes, the northern tip of the peninsula between Gandsfjord and the North Sea. This area, ca. 700 km2, is the largest low plain.
