Wikipedia info:
The Kalevala is a 19th-century work of epic poetry compiled by Elias Lönnrot from Karelian and Finnish oral folklore and mythology.
Väinämöinen (a bearded man in the coin), the central character of The Kalevala, is a shamanistic hero with a magical power of song and music similar to that of Orpheus. Väinämöinen created and plays the kantele, a Finnish stringed instrument that resembles and is played like a zither. Väinämöinen's search for a wife is a central element in many stories; although he never finds one. One of his potential brides, Joukahainen's sister Aino, drowns herself instead of marrying him.
