This is the companion travel bug to the geocache "Terry's Dream" (GC75FRP).
From this place, "Terry's Dream" (GC75FRP), on April 12, 1980, Terry Fox dipped his artificial foot in the Atlantic Ocean to begin his journey across Canada in aid of cancer research. He is shown below on that damp spring day over 35 years ago with Doug Alward, who would drive the van and cook the meals for them over the coming weeks.
While Terry was unable to complete his Marathon of Hope, his legacy lives on, as he continues to bring hope to those battling cancer worldwide and pride to his fellow Canadians.
While a couple pictures are presented here to give you an idea of the fitting monument to Terry's dream, you really need to come here in person. I truly believe you can really feel Terry's spirit here, as Terry's larger than life monument looks forward with determination.
This travel bug is the companion to the geocache "Terry's Dream" (GC75FRP). Like Terry, it wants to keep moving. :)
