Gary's Sea Pirate Trackable

To visit ship, shipwreck and shipyard memorials around the world, including those on the US National Historical Landmark list (133 at 1/1/20).

Sea Pirates have been the scourge of the high seas for centuries!!  The era from which this Sea Pirate comes from  was romanticized in the Age of Sail which has long been a part of western pop culture. Captain Charles Johnson's A General History of Pyrates, published in London in 1724, contained biographies of several pirates of the "golden age" and brought them to public attention. Pirates of the era have been further popularized and stereotyped by many subsequent works of fiction, most notably by the novels Treasure Island (1883) and Peter Pan (1911), two film adaptions of Treasure Island (1934 & 1950) and, more recently, by the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise, which began in 2003.

This Sea Pirate was initially set free by Dave and Cathy Lewis for Gary Venezia in Las Vegas, Nevada, who wants to see him visit ship, shipwreck and shipyard memorials around the world, including those on the US National Historical Landmark list. 

The Sea Pirate is made of aluminum and measures about 1.5".  He should fit nicely in small to medium size cache containers.  He is attached to a 3.5" chain for attaching to your favorite hitchhiker.

10/1/22 - RE-RELEASED AS A PROXY AFTER GOING INACTIVE WITH A GEOCACHER THAT HAD RETRIEVED IT OVER 31 MONTHS AGO AND NEVER RESPONDED TO INQUIRIES REGARDING ITS STATUS.  IT NEVER GOT STARTED ON ITS JOURNEY BEFORE IT WENT INACTIVE AFTER BEING RETRIEVED IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA!!
