This tracking code was earned as a reward for finding the lost treasure of Mary Hyde in 2017, which explains the trackable type. It is my first trackable, a homemade Travel Bug Dog Tag imitation made of brass with engraved text on one side. A plastic ring is attached to the tag with a chain just to make it a bit bigger and more difficult to get lost.
Lady Mary is dedicated to all those who made the ultimate sacrifice at Operation Market Garden launched 17 Sep 1944 in an attempt to seize the bridges across the main rivers and canals in the Nazi-German occupied Netherlands. The goal of Operation Market Garden was to establish a bridgehead North of the Rhine, and then make a quick attack into Germany to try to conquer the important Ruhr-area which was the main area of German war raw material production. Lady Mary starts her journey in the village of Ede, 8 km West of the "Ginkelse Heide" where the Allied air assault took place, the biggest air assault operation ever! In 2017 it was 73 years since Operation Market Garden was carried out.
