Fritzchen

Fritzchen ist ein Mainzelmännchen. Einer von sechs Trickfiguren die im ZDF vor allem als Werbetrenner dienen. Die anderen 5 Mainzelmännchen heißen Anton, Berti, Conni, Det und Edi.

Ihr Name geht auf die Stadt Mainz, den Sitz des Zweiten Deutschen Fernsehens (ZDF), und auf die Heinzelmännchen zurück. Ihr Schöpfer war Wolf Gerlach. Die Mainzelmännchen waren am 2. April 1963 erstmals im ZDF zu sehen.
Die Mainzelmännchen waren von Beginn an beim Publikum sehr beliebt und dienen dem Sender schon seit langem nicht nur als Werbetrenner, sondern haben sich zu den Maskottchen und einem wichtigen Teil der Corporate Identity des ZDF entwickelt.
Ihr großer Erfolg führte zudem auch zu Auftritten in anderen Medien wie Hörspielen, Kinderbüchern und Kinderliedern sowie zahlreichen Merchandise-Produkten.

Fritzchen wird als der Sportlichste und Pfiffigste der Gruppe dargestellt, was sich auch daran zeigt, dass er (ab 1993) als einziger der Gruppe ein Stirnband statt einer Mütze trägt.

 

Fritzchen is a Mainzelmale. One of six cartoon characters that are mainly used as advertising separators on ZDF. The other 5 Mainzel men are called Anton, Berti, Conni, Det and Edi.

Its name goes back to the city of Mainz, the seat of the Second German Television (ZDF), and to the brownies. Their creator was Wolf Gerlach. The Mainzelmännchen were first seen on ZDF on April 2, 1963.
The Mainzelmännchen were very popular with the public right from the start and have not only served the station as an advertising separator for a long time, but have also developed into the mascots and an important part of ZDF's corporate identity.
Her great success also led to appearances in other media such as radio plays, children's books and children's songs as well as numerous merchandise products.

Fritzchen is portrayed as the sportiest and smartest of the group, which is also reflected in the fact that he (since 1993) is the only one in the group who wears a headband instead of a hat.
