Setomaa (Estonian: Setumaa; Russian: Сетумаа, Seto: Setomaa) is a region south of Lake Peipus and inhabited by the Seto people. The Seto dialect is a variety of South Estonian. The historic range of Setomaa is located on territories of present-day Estonia and Russia. Estonian Setomaa presently consists of lands in Võru County located in southeastern Estonia and bordering Russia. Petseri (Russian: Pechory) has been the historic and cultural center for the Setos.
Setumaa, (Võru murdes Seto), setude asuala. Moodustas 1920–45 Petserimaana Eesti kagupoolseima maakonna. Hõlmas Põlvamaast Mikitamäe ja Värska valla, Võrumaast Meremäe valla ja osa Misso vallast ning nendega külgnevaid Venemaa Pihkva oblasti alasid (umbes 75% kunagisest Setumaast, mille koosseisu kuulus ka Pihkva järve saari – Kulkna ehk Kolpino, Varnja ehk Kolomtsõ, Kamenka, Semski jmt).
Setumaa külad rühmitusid varem külakondadeks ehk nulkadeks. Piusa keskjooksu ja Obinitsa vaheline ala moodustas Mokroluga ehk Mokoluva, Meremäe ümbrus Vaaksaare, Värska piirkond Tsätski ja Mikitamäe ala Poloda nulga, Matsuri kuulus Raakva ning Saatse Satserinna nulka.
