Operation Delta Dog has a simple mission: to rescue shelter dogs (who would otherwise be euthanized) and unite them with our service veterans who are suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and other related challenges that can leave them debilitated, sleepless, and unable to cope. Every day, 22 veterans take their own lives in the United States…almost one per hour. https://operationdeltadog.org/
TWO BIG PROBLEMS, ONE GREAT SOLUTION. Assistance animals are a practical and successful way to reduce stress, treat depression, and manage the panic attacks associated with PTSD, TBI, and MST. Trained dogs, however, are in short supply. Very few service dog organizations focus solely on veterans, and even fewer utilize rescued dogs in their programs.
The goal of this trackable is also simple: to raise awareness of the plight of both our veterans and our pet shelters. The hope is that all those families of service veterans who come in contact with this traveling tag will know that there are volunteers out there, who are doing what they can to help care for them and their family.
