Nurture GigaPet through its unique lifecycle! Once its journey with you is complete, help it find its next adventure by passing it along.
To Reset GigaPet: If the pet has passed on, (indicated by the appearance of angel wings), look for a tiny, recessed pinhole on the back of the device. Gently insert a straightened paper clip into this hole and hold for 10 seconds and you should see a new pet hatch. You will need to set the time and name the new pet.
A Brief History of Virtual Pets
The late 90s saw a pixelated pet craze, kicked off by Bandai's Tamagotchi (1996). These small, egg-shaped devices challenged owners to care for a digital creature by feeding, playing, and cleaning. Soon after, Tiger Electronics released GigaPet (1997), offering similar digital companions like Doggie and CompuKitty. Other notable virtual pets included Digimon (1997), which focused on monster battling, and countless other "Nano Pets." These handheld toys created a global sensation, requiring constant attention and teaching a generation about responsibility, all in the palm of their hand.
