Honey Bee had to test the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign and see if it has any honey. Nope! But there were a lot of people standing in line in the 108* heat waiting for that special photo-op. Instead of waiting, he decided to land upon the dedication sign and sniff out a flower-y looking star.

A few miles later, Honey Bee was dropped off at "A Scout Is..." (GCAV8FX).

  • At the infamous Las Vegas sign Where are we off to next?
  • At the infamous Las Vegas sign Does this flower-like star have honey?

Retrieve It from a Cache 6/21/2024 Jorunn retrieved it from MY BABY NOT MY BABY Colorado   Visit Log

While in town for a motorcycle conference at the nearby park/pavillion, I checked the area for any geocaches. I found cache #GCA6RN was close, so I took a muggle-friend (Chris) along with me. While studying the area and appreciating the environment, we located the cache neatly tucked away (in a dark, DARK beam) and guarded by one mean-looking critter that scared me enough to not want to reach in. I convinced Chris to help me out and reach in and grab the cache. Chris made the move and in one swoop, came out with our critter and "attacked" me with it! His accompanying scream did nothing to calm my nerves!! He received a good punch in the arm as he was doubling over laughing at me and my scaredy-cat girl-response. What a pal! After my adrenaline dump cooled off, I showed him how to log the cache and briefly explained the TravelBug rules. I took possession of the TB, returned the container and thought that I could help this Honey Bee along it's route to the west coast. So, now I've brought it home to Las Vegas, where I can get a memorable picture and then set it loose in another spot where I hope some tourist will take it westward. Very realistic looking travelBUG! Thanks for the opportunity to help the Bee out and I hope that I've convinced Chris to get his own Geocache profile and take his grandkids caching!

  • The Bee made it to Las Vegas! I still found myself squeamish while holding the honeybee when emerging from ground zero! So dang realistic looking!

This is where I've placed the bug for its journey to begin.
