currently its mission is to be picked up by dj and cal.
it got dropped with Flyingfisher sooner than expected. then it took a LONG time to get to crashco.
when you log it, please post a picture of yourself with it, or even better, a picture of you and your friends with it. take your time. it's in no hurry.
are you ever broken down? bent out of shape? hung up, downcast, derailed?
sometimes i am.
sometimes somebody hangs out with me, picks me up, brushes the dust off of me, hands me my helmet and sends me back out on the course.
last wednesday i went over my handlebars on a racecourse. i aggravated an old shoulder separation and bent my derailleur hanger.
thursday my long-term relationship came to a quiet and abrupt end.
friday i had a (previously scheduled and by now much-needed) party.
saturday i rode a different bike, watched a soccer game and was by turns amused and comforted.
sunday i got scooped up and held together. there was some singing and a sandwich and some sushi.
today is monday. this is the derailleur hanger.
so.
here's to the people who pick you up when you're broken-down and to the people you hang out with when you're all together. here's to the things you can fix and the parts you can replace.
pass it on, take it to heart, count your blessings. next week will be better.
