About This Item

This is our "Nosee-em" polar bear. He became a part of our family after making a special....but LONG trip to the zoo...BUT when we got there the polar bear exhibit had closed for remodeling. We bought a stuffed bear and named him "Nosee-em"....June 2009 we are going to try again to see a polar bear...we are traveling from ME to NC on a mission!!! If you have a polar bear story/picture from a visit and would like to share it....we would love it!!!!

  • Nosee-em at Baltimore Airport Picked up Nosee-em on Carolina Beach, NC. First leg of our flight was to Baltimore, Maryland on Southwest Airlines.
  • Nosee-em on flight to Arkansas He enjoyed looking out the window at the clouds. It reminded him of the glaciers at home.... but that picture didn't come out very well. We didn't tell him we were headed to a hot and humid climate.
  • Nosee-em's friends in Hot Springs Nosee-em found several polar bear friends in Hot Springs, AR. We wanted him to stay for the Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge in January, but he had to continue on his travels.
  • Farewell to Nosee-em We finally found an appropriate cache to send Nosee-em on his way. My niece, Kayla, and nephew, Mack, say good bye to him at 2 Hot for Penguins in Hot Springs, AR. We look forward to following his travels. Hope he makes it to the Kansas City Zoo for the opening of their new polar bear area in May 2010. Thanks for the memories. We'll forever remember our first travel bug.

My nephews from Stone Mountain, GA, and Hot Springs, AR picked up Nosee-em at Carolina Beach on Sunday. He'll travel with us and be placed in a cache in AR by the end of this week. We'll try to post pictures. We're very new to all this, so if we're not playing correctly please let us know. Thanks for adding an extra memory to our vacation.

We went to the North Carolina Zoo and wrapped up our visit from Maine with none other than the spotting Willy! Yup....we "seen-em" Hopefully Nosee-em will bring some luck and adventure to the rest of you!

My second travel bug!! I nabbed this buddy while I was on a cache mission in Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher in the afternoon. What a hot, but fine, fine day!

I haven't been to the zoo since I was about eleven years old. I went with my family to the Asheville, NC zoo and I did get to see the polar bears. They have always remained one of my favorite attactions. 🙂 It's a shame my trip to that zoo ended badly. I was stung by a wasp right in the middle of my upper lip. Don't worry, I was a trooper!
