As a fellow geocacher once told me, a travelbug without a good background story is just another common trading item. So here's Green Disco's story:
We've always felt the need to get a 4x4 to help us reach some caches and to play along in the mud and dirt tracks around us. The area where we live has some nice spots which are only accessible with a vehicle like this. In the meantime, we've been dragging some friends for some geocaching (which, incidentally, have a Land Rover and in return have been brainwashing us to get one too). Green Disco was the Christmas present we got at one "Forum Land Rover" (www.forumlandrover.org) meeting we attended together and which was followed by some pretty radical off-road tour through the Condeixa (Coimbra, Portugal) area. What makes this particular group of Land Rover addicts special is their dedication to their machines. They paint, they fix, they improvise, they break them, tear them apart, solder them back together, spend obscene amounts of cash in parts, assistance and g0d knows what... but never let go. They have such intense relationships with their cars... and this is the Land Rover spirit.

We're not sure we're getting a Land Rover (grin), but until we make a decision... this is a tribute to these fellows and to their spirit.
