Someday I would like to return to Tennessee, but first I would like to visit as many beautiful places that I can. Please take pictures and post on my site.
June 26, 2001 was a life changing day for many people including myself. My daughter and a group of her friends had gone to the lake for a long weekend, not knowing that the trip back home would be devastating. The trip itself could not have been better. Everyone had a great time together and really enjoyed themselves. On their way home, there was a car accident. Three of the nine people were terribly injured. Miles from home, no one knew what was going to happen. All three of the victims were sent to Vanderbilt Hospital, along with millions of prayers. Jessica was the only one out of the three injured to be life flighted to the hospital. A few hours seemed like forever, as we sat waiting in the hospital lobby to hear some news, any news. Later that evening, we got the news that no one ever wants to hear. Jessica didn’t make it.
My daughter was forever changed by her best friends tragic death. She has learned to trust God and puts all her faith in Him. She has become a better person inside, emotionally and religiously. She was baptized that summer when she was ready to accept Jesus Christ as her Savior. She realizes that Jessica can still be with her in her heart. Knowing that is what helps her through each and every day.
Jessica will always be remembered by those that knew and loved her. She was like a daughter to me and I loved her very much. She had a way of getting into your heart and staying there. She was beautiful, inside and out. I will never forget the time when I had made some brownies and I came home from work and she had eaten every one of them. She loved looking through my pantry. I found her doing that all the time. She felt comfortable in our home and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. It was a second home to her. Our lives have been forever changed by knowing her and we are all truly blessed to have been able to spend time with her. There is not a day that goes by that she is not thought of.
This Travel Bug “In Memory of Jessica” is being made to hopefully comfort the many people that have lost someone dear to their hearts. Please keep it moving along to as many beautiful places as possible. Take pictures of beautiful places and post on my site. I am making it in remembrance of her for all the lives she touched during her short time here on earth.
