About "JAMYEH!":
definition
JAMYEH! (interjection) [dʒæm-yɛə]
1. An exclamation used to show joy, relief and general approval - often as an addendum to a phrase or sentence that chronicles an event or experience that results in such emotion.
etymology
In 2008, Beth was waiting for a letter from her neurosurgeon to confirm an appointment for some major spinal surgery that would halt the deterioration of her mobility. It took months for the appropropriate communication to take place between her local specialist and the hospital to which she had been referred - probably approaching six months!
However, in early 2009, a letter from the neurosurgery department arrived, and it was signed by a Mr J.A.M Yeh - one of the most senior neurosurgeons in the UK. Despite his surname actually being pronounced 'yay' [yā], it seemed appropriate that this should be shouted by the whole family in celebration of the letter's arrival.
epilogue
Beth had her surgery - it wasn't without complication, since she spent much of the summer of 2009 in hospital, but her mobility is now much improved, and the phrase is used regularly by family and friends on Facebook and Twitter.
