I picked this coin up at the 12-12-12 Multi-World Event in New Milford, CT. Activating a year later to commemorate my 600th cache find.
Fearing the Mayan Apocolypse approaching on 12-21-12, I began to prepare for the end of the world. I stockpiled cases of MRE's, bottled water, first aid supplies, and ammo just in case there were any zombies. As I went to bed on the night of 12-20-12, I said my prayers and hoped to wake up and laugh at myself for being so silly and superstitious.
We were hit with a crazy storm in the early hours of 12-21-12. The winds howled as if it were a hurricane outside, trees cracked, and we lost power at about 4:30am. "Oh, just another storm, go back to sleep..." A couple of hours later, I just couldn't lay in bed anymore. I went to grab my watch to see what time it was, and found that it had stopped! OMG, this is it!!! Time has stopped, the world is coming to an end...!!! Deep breath. Try not to panic.
Oh, my cell phone still works! Okay, this is good. I called my best caching friend, Blitz'n, and made him drive over to keep me company just in case the zombies did rise. By noon, the sun came out, we went out to lunch, and we lived to see another day.
Here we are, a year later. Guess the Mayans may have been off.
