Attached is the prized and honored Sq.471 Challenge Coin. Its mission is to travel to Washington DC and back to Tulare County California, Visalia City. This way it can see the United States and the Capital, then return home. Please keep the tool, tag and coin together along the way. If you would like to add something to the chain it is okay, but please do not remove anything. I will post pictures of all the items when it returns home.
Joseph Mason "Bull" Reeves (November 20, 1872 - March 25, 1948) was an admiral in the United States Navy, who was an early and important supporter of U.S. Naval Aviation. Though a battleship officer during his early career, he became known as the "Father of Carrier Aviation" for his role in integrating aircraft carriers into the Fleet as a major part of the Navy's attack capabilities.
Reeves retired in the mid-1930s but was recalled to active duty during World War II to serve in high-level staff positions within the Office of the Secretary of the Navy. He retired again in December 1946 with the rank of full admiral.
The "Bull" is our namesake and the origin of our Sq. This unit is now closed, but many lives were saved by its members, and those are the members who have sent this coin on its way. Please honor them by helping this coin on its mission.
