I'd like to see this TB get as close as possible to as many National Guard Armories and any service or component artillery locations as possible, but random travel helps in this mission.
I spent 12 years with the 1st Battalion 111th Field Artillery, Virginia Army National Guard, serving in many positions including firing battery XO, battery commander twice, assistant S-3, S-2 and several other mundane assignments. My last two years were full time on active duty. I was the first company grade officer in Virginia to receive the Field Artillery Order of St. Barbara and my wife Mickie was the only female to receive a certificate of achievement from the battalion and one of the first to become a member of the Order of Molly Pitcher. After I left the battalion, I evaluated it several times while a member of the Artillery Team, 80th MTC. My son also spent his last year or so in the Guard in the battalion.
