About This Item

Out of Wagga Wagga TB

Every year, since 1977, the Solid State Physics community meets in the first week of february, at the Charles Sturt University, just Out of Wagga Wagga. It id the annual conference of the Australian and New Zealand communities, enriched by international guests and speakers. The meeting is familiar and informal, and presentations can be given in thongs, or even barefoot. Temperatures can rise up to 43C and all, professors and undergraduates, are lodged together in the student colleges. Fiendships and networks have formed over the years. Not only physics is discussed in its most advanced view, but sometimes with a different slant, and one of the highlights is the trivia quiz on the thursday nights. The present mirror will help to reflect physics from behing and a Wagga perspective. It is dedicated to the Wagga 2012 meeting, from where it will start its way.
