Moonraker Team Canal Boats
This boat is one of a family of boats made to cruise the world.
The first 4 released were named after family members(to make sure
there is no gender or ageism bias only initials were used,
i.e. DE,MPJ,RAE & PAE) Their mission, as with all the fleet
,to travel, collect pictures and just keep making friends.
The next 4 were compass named, their mission is circumnavigate the world generally in the direct of their names, North,South, East and West. Again please post pictures, we follow all travels with great enthusiasm
The latest series are named after the planets, again meet and greet Geocaching friends.
Please post photos and tell us where in the world our Moonraker Boats are.
Thanks for your help
Moonraker Team Canal Boats
Moonraker country is Wiltshire,England the home of the legend
of locals fooling the Excise Men by 'raking that tere big cheese'.
(What they were really after was the keg of brandy hidden in the pond)
Devizes or Bishop Cannings? which is the correct pond?,
who knows, even the locals argue.
The Kennet and Avon Canal runs through Wiltshire carrying these days mostly leisure boats, one of the most challenging parts is at Devizes where the Caen Hill flight of 29 locks raises the water some 231 feet in a distance of 2 miles.
It takes most of a day to complete the flight, hard work for the boaters, great fun for the watchers
