visiting Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium, England and Scotland along the way

Coast Alive is a project working to develop best practice for boosting visitor numbers to the countryside and for preventing these from destroying our heritage.


The North Sea Cycle Route, eller Nordsjøsykkelruta på norsk,
er ei 6000 kilometer lang skilta sykkelrute som går rundt Nordsjøen gjennom åtte land.
Ruta går gjennom Belgia, Nederland, Tyskland, Danmark, Sverige, Norge, Skottland og England.

I Noreg går Nordsjøsykkelruta frå svenskegrensa til Bergen gjennom 7 fylker;
Østfold, Vestfold, Telemark, Aust-Agder, Vest-Agder, Rogaland og Hordaland.
Sykkelruta er skilta med røde/brune skilt med nasjonalrute nummer «1».

The North Sea Cycle Route is a 6000-kilometer signposted bike route that goes around the North Sea through
Belgium, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Scotland and England.

In Norway, the Route goes from the Swedish border to Bergen, through 7 counties;
Østfold, Vestfold, Telemark, Aust-Agder, Vest-Agder, Rogaland and Hordaland.
The trails are marked with red / brown sign with the national route number "1".
