Hi, I'm a Georgia State Parks Geo-Challenge Travel Gopher. My goal is to travel around the USA, from cache to cache, to raise awareness for our spectacular state parks, our cool historic sites and the new Georgia State Parks Geo-Challenge! Log your visit, and move me to a new geocache in the USA.

This Travel Gopher comes from Unicoi State Park and Lodge GA 706-878-2201

In the north Georgia mountains, just two miles from the Alpine village of Helen, Unicoi is one of Georgia's most beloved state parks. You can enjoy 7.5 miles of hiking and 8 miles of excellent biking on scenic mountain trails and fulfill a Muddy Spokes Club requirement. Fishing is available year round at Smith Creek and accessible docks make for easy fishing for all ages at the lake. A lodge, conference center and restaurant are also available at this resort park. The park also features lots of camping and cottage accommodations, a beach and beach house that seats 75, 4 tennis coursts ad 7 picnic shelters.

Yeah, those planned summer road trips didn't pan out at all due to Covid. But things are starting to get back to some semblance of normal, so I visited a ditch in the mountains to rev up for the summer. This is a relatively new series, so I'm confident people will visit here over the next year.
