About This Item

My brother, King_of_Sweden, was diagnosed with incurable lung cancer at the end of February of this year, 2012. He knew his time was limited and he wanted to revisit some of the places that had been very special to him in his life. He underwent chemotherapy in April and May. He underwent radiation in June and July. He started having pain in September and October. He went into hospital on November 1 and passed away 2 weeks ago on November 25. He never got a chance to do the things that he wanted to do before he died. In his honour I am sending this geocoin to travel back to the places that he longed to return to.     It looks like this travel bug has gone missing. I reviewed it's route over the last 6 years and am happy to see where it has been - Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Czechia, Spain, Italy. Even though it didn't get exactly to my brother's favorite places, it covered most of Europe. For us, his family, we still miss him, but life has moved on, as life does. Myself and my children now travel to Europe regularly and my brother's regrets about not having travelled while he could impel me to make sure that I don't lose the chances I have to see the world. Europe has become very special to us. I feel it's time to retire the King of Sweden travel bug, as we've become travel bugs ourselves and carry the memory of King of Sweden with us.
