In the spirit of unleashing unbridled exploration and encouraging a fresh generation of adventurers, the British Exploring Society is excited to announce the launch of a novel Geocaching Adventure.

This geocoin is one of the fifty (50) British Exploring Geocoins that have been distributed throughout the UK and each represents a sum of money reclaimable towards the cost of a British Exploring 2016 summer expedition!

Top coin grant! A coin value of £2000 towards the cost of a British Exploring expedition

Runner-up coin grants!  49 coins with a value from £500 to £1500 towards the cost of a British Exploring expedition

As a youth development charity, young people aged 16-30 are eligible to redeem a coin value; but every one of any age is welcome to join in the Adventure!

The competition launches on June 2nd 2015 and the entry period closes on July 2nd 2015, although the undiscovered coins will remain so exploration and discovery can continue even after the window closes!

Dropped Off 6/3/2015 Sir PhilPamAndRob placed it in LittleBigCache North West England, United Kingdom   Visit Log

This coin will be back in LittleBigCache (Liverpool) before 9:30am today.
I've clearly labelled it stating it has NOT to be taken from the cache

Grab It (Not from a Cache) 6/2/2015 Sir PhilPamAndRob grabbed it   Visit Log

I was aware of this competition via facebook, and when they went live saw one was ina Liverpool cache.
I was already going with family/friends to an outdoor store north of Liverpool, so we came here first.
It was pouring with rain whilst we found the cache, and on opening we saw the lovely coin.
Huddled over the box for shelter we managed to sign the logbook wiothout it getting wet.
We then took the coin and replaced the cache as found and dashed back to the dry car.

Once in a dry home I looked at it and reading the small attached note I see it needs to stay in the cache.
This should have been stated clearly on the BE website, and on the information sent out via FB etc
I'd seen reference to not keeping it and it was to be kept circulating, which in geocaching terms is moving cache to cache, not staying in one cache.

Anyway, I'll reluctantly make another trip back to the cache tomorrow (Wednesday) and leave the coin.
Not ideal with the mileage involved and two trips through the Mersey tunnel, but I'll have to do it
