This coin was designed to honor a special boy named Jamie Evreniadis Jr. He was diagnosed with a childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma. A few months later, Jamie passed away at only 3 1/2 years old. Jamie's mother Becky is a close family friend that was part of "46 Mommas Shave for the Brave". To help find a cure for other children suffering with cancer, she shaved her head to raise money. She and the 46 Mommas team were featured on the telethon Stand Up to Cancer in Sept 2010.
The goal of this coin for Jamie is to pass it around the world spreading awareness about childhood cancer and to help find a cure! You can also purchase your own "Defeat Kids' Cancer Geocoin" to help spread the awareness and Oakcoins will make a $2 donation to help find a cure!
